I can not use fastboot on my pc with Windows 10 to flash something on my Nexus 5X. I've installed Ubuntu and adb/fastbook works correctly. Windows 10 and fastboot driver| Nexus 5X. Ask Question 1. Windows 10 Fastboot Driver. Problem connecting Nexus 7 as mass storage device on Windows 7. I was successfully able to root the Nexus 5 with NRT a couple of month ago (on some Android 6.x version) on another Windows 7 laptop (which I do not have currently) - so USB debugging did work on this Nexus 5 at some point.

Check your Windows 10 version (right click on my computer ->properties), if you're running Windows 10 N then you need to download the media feature pack from Microsoft.
Hey, so since I updated to Windows 10 from 8.1, my Nexus 6 does not appear as a device when I plug it in. Yes, the screen is on and unlocked.
I've tried different USB cables (including the original), different USB ports, and different modes (MTP, PTP, USB debug on/off).
I went to look for drivers, and windows tells me 'there are no compatible drivers for this device.' Searching for drivers gives me the same message, and there are no Android drivers listed in the Device Manager that I can uninstall. Tried right click -> uninstall on the listed 'Nexus 6,' no dice.
Further investigation shows my Nexus as 'unspecified' in the Devices and Printers menu.
My N6 is directly from Google Play, no modifications or root.
Has anyone else on Windows 10 had trouble with this? I've been searching around and can't find any answers. My GoPro is doing a similar thing so I'm wondering if it's something to do with W10 itself.
No MicroSD slot either, thank god cloud storage is a thing.

I have got a Google Nexus 5X and I would like to connect it to my Windows 10 PC.
This is not my first Nexus phone and I'm familiar with things related to a computer as a developer. But I just can't succeed to make my Nexus phone recognized by the Win10 PC.
At work, on my Windows 7 PC, my Nexus is recognized and I can transfer files.
But at home on my Windows 10 PC, drivers installed by Windows are not OK. There is a yellow warning on my device, displayed in the device manager.
I tried to activate the debugging mode (Android developer settings), tried to reboot, to change USB port.I also tried with the Google USB Drivers. (I also know that by default, on my Marshmallow Nexus 5X, I have to change connection mode 'USB charging' to 'Transfer files (MTP)').
The cable I use is OK because it works on my Windows 7 PC and I bought it on Google's Store.
I also had a call with Google Tech Support and they just told me that they don't have any solution for my problem, because I have already tried everything they are used to advice.
I just don't know what to do.
My last try, was to install 'Media Feature Pack for Windows 10 N & KN' (it helped me when I wanted to connect my previous Nexus 5 on a Windows 8.1 laptop).
Any suggestion ?
Sorry for my english.
Best regards,
Hellcat8.

This worked for me (without having to download the media feature pack).
On your phone (after connecting to PC):
Nexus 5 Driver For Windows 10 64
- Open the notifications bar.
- Tap USB connection notification (USB for charging)
- Select PTP-option (this one worked for me at least)
- Done! You can now open your phone on your pc.
